• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

It’s been a while since school, but last time I checked, the day actually starts after midnight. I also find it out that one of their “dealers” came on here posting the release and updates and there was nothing on the Unication site, Facebook page or David posting here.

Yes, and a day is 24 hours long, so until the day is over, people shouldn't be harping on the company. I have seen information from more than one dealer that indicatesthe release isc coming and until midnight, I am giving the benefit of the doubt.

Of course, there are those that tell me to "keep waiting, it's coming" when I ask about all of the promised features in Siren, so I guess it will be OK if Unication doesn't release today.

The PPS referenced is on the website, not at home to see what version I'm currently running to see if it's newer version or not.

Anyone having success with the RemoteUpdater? It won't accept admin/admin for me. I guess I failed the intelligence test...?

I also confirm the Remote Updater is not accepting username and password admin / admin.
My existing PPS works with that combination.
Not sure what is wrong...
Unication?

Folks I don’t see the big deal. It’s not like they forced you to upgrade back then. That was the deal and I also went for it. I can still upgrade the G4 here and glad it will be for free this time around.

What seems odd is, weren’t we told several months ago that the $150 MSRP was because of licensing fees and such for the phase 2 codec, or something like that? Now all of a sudden they can give it away for free?

Now they're saying that it's just too many people trying to "login" at the same time, and it should be OK later.... hmmmm
