I've had this peculiar problem with FreeSCAN for several months, and was hoping it would just cure itself with the next release. No such luck. :)
The symptom is this failure immediately on startup, before loading any of my BCD396XL files.
Image below showing:
Code:
************** Exception Text **************
System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array.
   at FreeSCAN.frmRecord.SetupRec()
   at FreeSCAN.lblSiteNote.frmSystemEditor_Load(Object eventSender, EventArgs eventArgs)
   at System.EventHandler.Invoke(Object sender, EventArgs e)
   at System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnLoad(EventArgs e)
   at System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnCreateControl()
   at System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateControl(Boolean fIgnoreVisible)
   at System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateControl()
   at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmShowWindow(Message& m)
   at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m)
   at System.Windows.Forms.ScrollableControl.WndProc(Message& m)
   at System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.WndProc(Message& m)
   at System.Windows.Forms.Form.WmShowWindow(Message& m)
   at System.Windows.Forms.Form.WndProc(Message& m)
   at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m)
   at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
   at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

I can "Continue"; the program starts and appears to work fine, so it's more just a bother than a failure.

Is there any startup file or configuration info that FreeSCAN loads at startup? Anything I can flush or clear?

The program used to work fine, so it must be something about my system or configuration that has flustered the startup. Ideas?
Thanks!

If you had an old version on your computer you may now have deleated it first. download the new program, uninstall all freescann programs on the computer, and then reinstall the new program....

I gave that a try -- uninstalled FreeSCAN and re-installed 2.10. It gives the same error on startup.

Is there anywhere FreeSCAN stores settings? A directory, .ini files, registry keys, anywhere? I want to completely flush it and try again.

I would go to the Freescann site and check the forums, and maybe leave your problem on the problems forum...He's pretty good about helping....after all, he wrote it, I'm sure he knows the in and outs of the program...
