Is it possible to select certain frequencies from a group list to download? I live in a large county with police, constables and sheriffs deputies. Trying to narrow it down to my specific area from the repeater nearest me.

I had this option in Win 500 with my Whistler 1065 scanner. Im now using a BCD996P2.

If you are referring to TXWARN, the most commonly used system in the Houston Metro area, you need to monitor specific sites, not only certain conventional frequencies. You would import the site nearest you, being sure that you import the correct site for your agencies of interest. All talkgroups are not carried on all sites.

For your WS1065, you could load the frequencies for more than one site into one TSYS object, up to a max of 32 frequencies total. Than set the object to Stat and 'check all control channels' so that it would,, in effect, scan all the sites each pass though. For the 996P2, you import the sites separately, not combining frequencies from other sites into the same one. The Uniden scanners will find and use the first active control channel encountered in the list, and keep going back to that frequency even if reception on another programmed channel was better. So, import the site(s) near you, that carry the agencies you want to hear. Import each site as is; don't add other frequencies from a different site into the list.

I live in Pct 4 and using the NW simulcast repeater , even with skip tags applied I get more than I need. Im trying to zero in on Pct 4 solely and not everything that runs through that particular tower.

Just make sure the TGIDs you want, for Pct 4, are entered in the system's groups. If you are seeing additional talkgroups come up, that you did not program, are you only seeing the talkgroup ID ad the text tag? If so, you have that system set to use ID Search. Change it to ID Scan

ID Search stops on any active talkgroup, as long as it is not Avoided (you can Avoid (lockout) a talkgroup that is not programmed). If the talkgroup is already programmed, you would see the text tag that is associated with it. If the TGID is NOT programmed, then the 'text tag' would simply be the talkgroup ID (no descriptive text). As the unprogrammed talkgroups are not classified with a Service Type, you would hear any that are active

ID Scan stops only on talkgroups that are programmed, as long as they are not Avoided (locked out), and are not in a Group that is Avoided.
