I have tried to import .m96 (BCD996T) files and .mem (BCD396T) files into FreeScan so that I can load them into my BCD396XT, but I have been having problems.
1) Several instances of "Critical Error 9 Unable to Continue" after which the import continues anyway.
2) LTR systems converted to EDACS-SCAT, with "This scanner cannot track talkgroups in SCAT so you can't create a new talkgroup" errors for every talkgroup in the LTR systems, and thus no importing of any talkgroups.
3) P25 systems converted to Motorola Type I.
I can't figure out what FreeScan means by "this scanner" as there is no way to tell it what kind of scanner I intend to program. The 996 and the 396XT can, in fact, track EDACS-SCAT talkgroups, so the error message is in error.
I also saw "Critical Error 5 Unable to Continue" when shutting down the program. After clicking the OK button, the program continued to shut down anyway.
