160.74000 Omaha "East" Dispatcher - from Pacific St. east to Denison, IA via Mo. Valley and between Fremont and Blair via Arlington
161.49000 Omaha "West" Dispatcher - from Pacific St. west to Kearney via Fremont

161.235 BNSF Ashland to Sioux City Sub

They may be other but that is what I know.

160.6800 (3838), UP Fremont Local/Switcher
161.2450 (0909) & 161.2650 (7777), Fremont Dinner Train/FEVR

BNSF Fremont Local/Switcher can occasionally be found on 161.1000 (6666) and as mentioned above, 161.2350 (7575).

UP 160.7400 (4242) also extends west past Fremont to MP (CPB 096), west of Duncan, Ne

Another way to find more railroad activity, hit the search function, start at 159.8100 to 161.5650. Occasionally locals and switch crews do use other frequencies if there is a lot of radio traffic.

awesome! Thanks for the input guys.

One correction, if I may!

The first channel listed for FEVR should be 160.245000 - not 161.24500.

Don't be surprised to hear both of those channels go full-time encrypted digital later this year!

The Nebraska Railroad Museum (NRM) owns both channels - the Fremont Dinner Train is merely a user of the rails as they are one train which is pulled by NRM crews... just a point of clarification.

Why are they doing this?

Ummm... it's a GREAT way to GO GREEN!

Transmitting in narrowband uses less spectrum, transmitting in digital uses even less spectrum, using a digital CODEC uses less bits, and digital encryption results in less people listening in!!! :*)

All in good fun! Stay COOL and Happy 4th of July!

That's cool. Because I'm gonna be so very happy when the rails are ripped up and the line is abandoned for good. I hope the FRA shuts it down soon.
