theres not alot of ham rept.s in the area here I live here in dawson springs and we no longer have one. the cadiz rept.s are gone to. madisonville has a really good 440 rept. (442.775+) no tone. as for here in dawson springs we run 145.505 simplex. there is a rept. in princeton on 145.230 with a 179.9pl
as for the pd and fd look at the wiki for the following County's in KY Hopkins Co. Caldwell Co. Trigg Co. and Lyon Co. this should take care of what you need. If you Won't Kentucky State Police you will need p25 for that. look in the wiki for KSP post 1 and post 2.

Check the database for Ky, Dawson Springs is Caldwell Co. . Cadiz is Trigg Co. Madisonville is Hopkins Co. Hope this helps, and welcome to the Bluegrass State.

coiler out, nice

Yea, I clipped the ksp post's 1, 2 after refencing the counties and going back and fourth. I'm p25 capable for decoding , I made the switch. And yea i grab the county stuff off the profiles if you will on the rr. database. My question is, are their any LTR systems that I should be aware off that have county opts hidden amongest them or stuff along those lines. And I glad that I'm going no where near the Madison county area, that base gives me the creeps. What I am unfimilar with is the breakdowns for the state systems as far as posts go in reference to the county's. Such as what P25 law talk/ law dispatch covers trigg county. Also, what covers muhlenberg as far as frequencies. How do they identified on the radio, what the sequence scheme.

Like here in IL, say the district was 14, they would identifed as 1422 or 14k91 designate it as a 14 district K-9 unit, officer 1. Is what I'm getting at?

Thanks, for the help. Here's what I grabbed for ham repeaters. What is still operational?

--BENTON 147.1300/147.7300 KC4KAN = 146.9850/146.3850 (123.0) N4SEI
-- CADIZ 147.1950/147.7950 (103.5) KT4SH
--CALVERT CITY 147.1050/147.7050
-- DAWSON SPRINGS 444.2750/449.2750 KE4SZI
--HOPKINSVILLE 147.0300/147.6300 (103.5) KD4ULE
-- MADISONVILLE 146.6100/146.0100 KC4FRA = 442.4250/447.4250 =
442.7750/447.7750
--MURRAY 146.9400/146.3400 = 443.8000/448.8000 K4MSU
--PADUCAH 146.6550/146.0550 K4CUW, 146.7600/146.0600 KD4DVI
147.0600/147.6600 (179.9) W4NJA
443.0000/448.0000 (179.9) KD4DVI
444.0000/449.0000 (141.3) W9MID
--PRICENTON 145.2300/144.6300 (179.9) W4KBL

I'm looking at property near cadiz and the surronding counties, have been for a little while now. It's to bad that the ham machines are fading an the area. I now if I acquire some property in the area I will be building out a tower at some 50 ft or so. That will house a repeater or repeaters, for the property as well as gmrs or ham that part I have not decided on just yet. More importanily would be acquirin land first. Attending a wedding their, should be fun.

As far as KSP in reference to this quote "
Like here in IL, say the district was 14, they would identifed as 1422 or 14k91 designate it as a 14 district K-9 unit, officer 1. Is what I'm getting at"

They use badge numbers so there is not real rhyme or reason as to their radio call signs.

Confused me for a long time since I am used to radio numbers like you refer to.

Have a good trip and a Merry Christmas

A lot of folks in the Trigg County area use the 147.15 (+) PL 123.0 AF4TZ repeater, which is located just south of the state line in eastern Stewart County, TN. It's on the Q108 tower and covers a pretty wide area. Also, it can be linked back to one of the more active 2m repeaters in Nashville to allow seamless communications all along the I-24 corridor from Nashville to Clarksville, and even beyond up into the Cadiz area and as far northwest as Eddyville. That might be one to make a note of.

What I am unfimilar with is the breakdowns for the state systems as far as posts go in reference to the county's. Such as what P25 law talk/ law dispatch covers trigg county.

I'm pretty sure that the Lyon County transmitter covers Trigg County.

In my efforrt to understand ksp layout I'm stuck with

In my efforrt to understand ksp layout I'm stuck with more questions,

Here it is, why I know their post assignments what transmitter are they on? Here in IL all counties per the district are assigned one talkgroup period.

Here are the counties that I could not find a speciffic frequency for, my assumption is that they covered by one of the other counties based on simple logic. But, the question is what area county transmitter (repeater p25 system are they utilize for the counties listed below.) It rather werid as far as setup to utilize five different channels per district (post) but whatever works.

KSP 01
TRIGG
MARSHALL

KSP 02
CALDWELL
MUHLENBERG

The Illinois system is different from the KSP System.... KSP is multicast. The transmitters are placed in such a way that a Trooper can key the mic and hit one regardless of location within the Post area.... If you program the towers close to you will be then you should hear what is happening....
460.28750 181 NAC KSP01B-4 Montgomery-Lyon County Transmitter
460.11250 180 NAC KSP01A-4 Montgomery-Lyon County Transmitter
453.71250 196 NAC KSP02B-2 St. Charles-Hopkins County Transmitter
460.06250 195 NAC KSP02A-2 St. Charles-Hopkins County Transmitter
Given coverage of the KSP system, program all of the towers and see which ones you receive
