Does anyone have any frequencies other than the ones listed on this site? The ones I have don't seem to work anymore. My Greenville, Spartanburg, and Greenwood seem fine. Just started listening again recently and would like to listen to something local. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

If you are using a trunk-tracking scanner, then try the Palmetto 800 system. Laurens has a lot of local talkgroups.

No trunk tracker, just an old SC150. Was told I could program all the Palmetto 800's shown and then delete whats not getting traffic. Would this work?

Yeah Laurens and Clinton are both active on the 800. I'm not sure about any active conventional channels for them. I'll actually be in Laurens in a few hours.

Laurens police officers are fun to listen to. For instance, when they get a chase, they do not stop! (at least that's been my experience) Highway Patrol and other citys such as Anderson will call the chase off fairly quickly for safety reasons.

Laurens Co. SO, Laurens PD, Clinton PD and Laurens Co. EMS now use the Palmetto 800 trunked radio system exclusively as far as I can tell. They're all digital talkgroups as well, so you'll need a digital-capable trunk-tracker to properly listen to them these days. Sites 16 and 21 are their primary towers, though they come up on some Greenville, Spartanburg and Union towers too.

You can program in the 800 frequencies and lock out the control channel (it'll be the one that sounds like a diesel engine), but you'll get frustrated quickly as you won't be able to follow the conversations. You may hear HP and then Laurens and the garbage trucks and so on...

If you have a trunk-tracking scanner, you could put in there talkgroup and follow the conversations like you could back in the day. They make for more pleasurable listening.

Short answer: Stop by Radio Shack in Laurens and talk to Chris about the PRO106. It works perfect on all Laurens Co, Laurens City, Clinton Police Digital Comms. Good Luck, Larry

This will work for the most part, but because the system is mixed mode (digital and analog) you will here data on the channel one minute and analog voice the next. The best bet is to purchase a digital trunking scanner....you'll be much less frustrated.
