On a couple of my scanners, all of a sudden, every frequency that comes in is very static. All the frequencies that come in have this static sound. What should I do?

I might help if you gave some basic information like maybe what kind of scanner, what kind of antenna, what frequencies, etc etc

Check your antenna(s).

But like NMFIRE says, details, my man, details. The Devil is in the details.

Pro 2052 scanner. On some days the scanners frequencies come in crystal clear. I am using a outdoor antenna which is on a pole.

One, or more than one, scanner. If more than one, does each have a seperate antenna. If a common antenna, what kind of splitter? What frequencies, and how far away are the sites you are monitoring?

It could be a household appliance that's genterating interference... For example, when my computer monitor is on, my radio gets a lot more static then when it's off.

Are your outside antenna connections secure and protected ?
Have you had bad weather go through there lately ?
What's the closest item that is operating near your scanner ?

I'm not trying to play 20 Questions, just trying to narrow down the cause.

So, I'll ask again:

1. One, or more than one, scanner.

2. If more than one, does each have a seperate antenna.

3. If a common antenna, what kind of splitter?

4. What frequencies
