I have the BCD436HP scanner, I live in Dothan Alabama Houston County, What I want to know do I have to enter frequencies that already should be in the scanner. For example I pick up Fort Rucker but do not pick up the Military police or security channel ? The other question that I have is how do you just listen to a certain channel without locking out all the other channels ? for example I have the DB channels in my scanner along with my zip code channels but sometimes I would like to just listen to the Dothan PD instead of all the other channels how do I do this ?

The best way is to set up favorite lists to make it easier to listen to only what you want to. As far as not picking up the MPs or security, check to make sure you have those service types enabled.

The database shows that Fort Rucker MPs are not encrypted and are assigned the Law Dispatch Service Type.

For what it's worth, here at Fort Knox the MP channels are encrypted. It's possible that Fort Rucker may have encrypted MP talkgroups and this information hasn't made its way into the database.
