Guys,

I know it may sound dumb but as smart as I am I still am having trouble understanding all these Digital codes & diffrences between radio systems. Anyone with a Pro-96 can please tell me say I have Bank 800 programmed for EDACS Systems such as Spotslyvania County (Which I just programmed) does that effectively leave that bank from usage of any other digital system such as the AAPCO25 etc?

Also can someone with a Pro-96 help me understand how to use the V-scanner on this thing? I know it says you can program Thousands of Frequencies through the V-Scanner? It seems SOOOO Complicated to me.

The last thing I am trying to figure out is do I really need the Talkback group ID's? I know most likely I probably need them but again I don't understand how to program them into Frequencies already stored in the scanner?

I'm just so dumbstruck how I finally spent an entire day programming this thing & half the Freqs ARE WRONG...&*&^&^ Police Call.

Thanks Again,

Jason

Jason, I don't have a pro 96 but I'm sure someone will help you soon. By the way don't use that police call book. Use the RR Database on this website. It is at the top of the page here at this forum. Click on it and find the state of Va. Also Spotsy is going pro voice soon so you will only be able to listen for a little while.

I have to agree with DJS, use that Police Call as a door stop. The most reliable (and up to date) freq's and talk groups you'll find are right here in the Database section of RR.

Yes, you DO need the talkgroups!

As far as programming EDACS and APCO-25 (or even as non-APCO-25 trunked radio system) in the same bank, I have done that on a couple of my Unidens, but there are a lot of "variables" that go into doing something like that. Distance between the radio systems, how the freq's are programmed, what "mode" the scanner is in, etc, etc.

I wish I could help you more, but I just have Uniden stuff, no Pro-96. I'm sure one of our collegues here will be happy to give you a hand, though! :D
