I have a Icom R2500, R5, 208H, Uniden 996, 396 AND RS Pro83 I thought I saw on RR somewhere a entry in a thread about a software program that helped translate various radio memory files to different formats. Icom R5 files to Icom PRC2500 files, or Uniden 996 to Icom. Or Uniden to other models of Uniden. Sort of a Universal Comma Delimited File translator/editor. Did I dream this? Thanks for any info on the name of this "Holly Grail" of programs. I am getting tired of exporting and importing and editing. . I would like to create a master file to export to various radios without to much work. My fingers are starting to bleed.

Yep, it's a dream. I don't doubt that lots of folks had thought of having something like this at one time or another, but with the number of scanners and radios out there, it's probably impractical due to the number of possible combinations (no, I'm not going to do the math in my head - I ran out of Tylenol yesterday, hi). Even programs like Scancat Lite Plus - which supposedly supports numerous radios - fall way short. They simply can't always account very well for the different requirements of different radios and scanners.

If someone were to come up with such a package, it would probably be very large and be rather expensive to recoup the costs of development and testing. Not a real healthy scenario, in my book.

Go back to sleep, hi. 73s Mike
