Just wondering if anyone has successfully received local frequencies through a Freedom Of Information Act request ? I live in the Village of Lindenhurst on Long Island. I cannot find the frequencies currently used by the DPW and Public Safety/ Code Enforcement departments. I’ve tried close call on my scanners without any luck , I’ve programmed frequencies that I found online , again without any luck.

Don, when you see any of the village dpw or code enforcement vehicles, do they have any antennas? That would be a good starting point. Very possible they are leasing radios from one of the radio shops. They could also be on any of the undocumented tg’s on Onevoice system. They could also be utilizing cellular ppt.

If they are DMR, your close call is likely not going to work. Close Call is very hit or miss on DMR, just an FYI.
They may be using voice over LTE, vs actual "RF" radios as well.
Have you checked the Babylon trunk to see if they are using TGs on it? (Seeing how it's a village within the town itself)

Thank you , most of the frequencies are fire dept related , a few are old DPW frequencies that I haven’t heard anything on in a couple of years. Thank you for your time and help.
I will try to get pictures of their antennas and post them . DPW has what looks like cb radio antennas. The Code Enforcement have short stubby antennas on their SUV’s and they also use handhelds. Thank you

I printed out some FOIA forms and I’ll give it a shot without high hopes. If I get on their radar so be it , I’ll just have to cut back on all the illegal things I do and lay low for a while. Actually , they must know me by now since I have to call them about once a month for all the car accidents on my corner. Thank you.
Try scanning onevoice and select the tower closest to you. Lock out all known tg’s and set it to id search.
Did you try asking them?
on the Suffolk county trunk System, town of babylon, this should cover it not sure about DPW though

Don is asking about Village of Lindenhurst. All those radios on Babylons tg’s are aliases reflecting Babylon. Babylon Public Safety and Village of Lindenhurst Code Enforcement are two different entities.
They are either leasing radios (hence no license in their name) or using cellular ppt.
If it were me, I would park by their headquarters or where ever their antenna is with my squelch set on the high side and would be scanning all possible ranges they could be in.

I have monitored Town of Babylon public safety for years , they use the Suffolk County P25 and have their own Town system for DPW and other services. , Village of Lindenhurst does not use anything from Suffolk County or Town of Babylon. I cannot find anything on the Village of Lindenhurst , their old frequencies have been quiet for a few years.
Parking near Village Hall and searching is my next step , either that or next time they close some streets for the next “night out” I’ll park in the area and try to catch the public safety. I printed out some FOIA forms so I’m am gonna give that a shot.

That's not how they're listed in the database.
That's the eligibility description on their license. (Shown as notes). Nothing to do with the database, we can't edit those fields.
