sum1wholives, For Greenfield PD They are now on safe-t and no longer on vhf, You will need a digital scanner programmed up for the Greenfield safe-t site Site 074. Greenfield PD's main talkgroup on safe-t is 10333- better known as 30-GPD-HQ.I hope this answers your question.

That radio is only intended to receive analog VHF and UHF. Since most of the agencies in the state and in your county have moved to an 800 MHz digital trunked radio system, you will need a different radio to receive them.

Sum1who lives, What W9BU is trying to tell you that you will need a digital scanner. Like a Uniden 396T Uniden 396XT. A Baofeng is not digital and will not work. Thanks!!!!

Hancock Co Fire is simulcast on VHF. All PD is on SAFET. HRH, Greenfield schools and Mt Vernon schools all still on VHF. EH is mixed with some DMR and New Pal schools are DMR for the most part, Some buses still on VHF but most on DMR as is the high school. they use two DMR frequencies with three color codes just to confuse everyone.

More likely the use of 3 Color Codes is to allow more flexibility on the repeaters. Like Transportation has one color code for Bus/Garage ops, Administration has one, and Security/Maintenance has one. And with three CCs, 2 Slots, and multiple TGs, you can turn 2 repeaters into basically a small TRS without adding the cost of going to an MotoTRBO TRS... Though you also don't get the added features a TRS would give. Advantages, and disadvantages to being cheap...
2 Repeaters... 3 CC... 2 Slots... That is 12 possible chans alone... Add in multiple TGs... That is pretty big small system. Then you have the direct/talk around options...

Same way that using multiple CTCSS/CDCSS tones works on analog multi user repeaters to an point.
