Frequency - Rx
Input - Tx

I asked the webmaster, Lindsay C. Blanton III (blantonl) to make this simple by listing Rx and Tx for new folks such as yourself and got blown off on several occasions. Heck, you cant even send him emails or PM's as they are blocked or something.

Listing them simply as RX and TX would be confusing. Does it refer to mobile TX and RX, or base TX and RX? The way it's listed now shows base transmit and base receive (input).

There is a group of us that meet most Friday and Saturday nights to play radio. Most often on the near west side at a 24hr place. Join us sometime. Lots of good info within the group.

Ok t hen make it say Transmit and Receive. That would help. Some folks see input and say, "huh?" I was that way at first.

Not every agency uses a repeater though... So thats why he has it listed as Freq:

And only agencies who use a repeater have an "input" listed, and "input" is the correct term when you're dealing with repeaters. Because FREQ could also be both transmit and receive.

I know its confusing to someone who isn't a HAM who should know the meaning of input and output.

to explain, the input freq is "heard" by the repeater, then the repeater retransmits the "heard"
Message on a slightly higher or lower frquency---if you listen to an input, you would usually have to be pretty close to the person transmitting, or have a pretty good antenna--by using repeaters, the transmit receive range is increased dramatically---when or if you listen to any 2 meter or higher traffic on your scanner it is probably coming through a repeater.........
