Here's the frequencies for the Fairchild AFB refueling tankers when they are over northwest montana.
These are for the 9/9A refueling track which extends into north central montana partway before they turn around and head back.
238.9000 mhz AM mode refueling Primary
292.6000 mhz AM mode refueling Secondary
295.4000 mhz AM mode refueling/Patch (phone patch ?)
251.1000 mhz AM mode Refueling ARCP
269.4000 mhz AM mode Refueling East exit (over north central Montana)
317.6000 mhz AM mode Refueling West exit (over Northeast Washington)
Also have heard them on 119.2250 and 122.7500 and 335.5000
Have fun listening,

P.S. Can not here 269.4, 251.1 & 317.6 over northwest montana, too far away, maybe if you have a beam antenna though. You might pick them up on the Idaho/ northwest, Mt. border though, except for 269.4

do you think these will be heard from polson? i dont remember exactly where that refuel track is.
i did manage faint border patrol the other night from elmo... not quite clear enough to be considered readable, but there nonetheless.

Hi joshuadenny

You should have no problem hearing the tankers fly by as long as you have an outside antenna, that is of course if your scanner covers the milair band (225.0000 - 399.9750 AM mode), (240.0000 - 280.0000 FM mode for Military satellites); my scanner does not have fm mode for satellites.
There are 2 AR tracks they use; AR 9 & AR 9A. AR 9 is south of AR9A. AR 9 track should be right over polson or just south of it, from the looks of the map I have. Track AR 9A is north of polson but you might here it.
They generally fly over around between 1100 hrs - 1300 hrs and 1600 hrs - 1800 hrs. Check around 1200 hrs & 1700 hrs. You never know when they will fly over but usually in that time frame. You also can here them at night sometimes. What milair frequencies do you have as I several in my scanner I listen to. 311.0000, 321.0000, 303.0000 & 319.4000 are good ones besides the tanker freq's. Also 300.1250 is good
as you never know what you might here on that. That one might be coming out of Idaho/Washington border area as the roosevelt MOA is in that area, so you might not here it. Oh, in the lakeside area is the RCAG site. Freq's are 251.1500 & 285.4000. Hope this helps. Oh, also listen to 256.4000 as I get comms on that too once in a while. Also, listen to 122.7500 if there is a squadron of planes refueling. And listen to 293.7000 as this is an fairchild AFB frequency and I've heard pilots using it then switch over to another freq., sometimes 335.5000.

Hi joshuadenny

If you can get Lincoln County Sheriff Office from polson I would be shocked. I can not get polson from here.
But I do pick up some flathead frequencies; FCSO. In some areas around libby, FCSO comes in real clear, 158.8650. Yeah, LCSO is 155.5950. Oh. NORAD's 364.2000 ACC ROCC frequency is supposed to be on the LAKESIDE RCAG site, though I have not heard it yet. Let me know if you pick up LCSO. You might get it from one of the mountain repeater sites; king, calx repeaters.

Regards and happy listening,

Hi Joshuadenny
Heard the tankers fly over at 11:00 this morning. Also heard a (Reach 0398 ?) plane flying into fairchild afb at 11:00 - 11:30. The pilot said he was 30 minutes out. 9 passengers on board. Asked for a litter, I wonder if someone was hurt or ill? What is your email address, if you don't mind me asking. That way i can put you in windows messenger and send you an instant message when the tankers are headed your way. That is, if you are at your computer at the time, heh heh.
