I have been searching the 810.00 - 823.000 frequency range in Connecticut and have come up with no signals. Does anyone know if there are any active frequencies or signals within this range in Connecticut and has anyone been receiving anything?

there are MANY users of this range in CT. Mostly mobile assignments.... but LOTS of them. Could be tough to hear depending on locations.

good listening...

Since I have a rooftop scanner antenna and a good one, I pick up signals from most of the state of CT and many from Long Island NY and Westchester County NY. It kind of makes the feature of alpha tag (identifying stations) on my 870 LXT Uniden scanner display somewhat overkill because I may receive more than one service and sometimes many services from different locations on one particular frequency. I was wondering if anyone else experiences this problem, or rather should I say this confusing benefit and how they usually tag their service description.

I wish you could assign multiple alpha tags to PL or DCS per frequency. That way when the same channel popped up with different users the appropriate name would be displayed with the matching PL or DCS it's receiving.

The Kansas conventinal State 800Mhz system only uses a handful of frequencies but they are shared all over the state with unique DPL's. You almost have to fill an entire radio with duplicate frequencies and uniqe squelch codes to cover it all.

With this feature you could program a few and still have the rest open.

Hopefully, the manufacturers of radio scanners will discover the need for multiple tags and manufacture scanners with such a feature. I don't believe there is presently any scanner on the market that provides such a feature.
