There are number of air-to-air frequencies used, depending on type of aircraft and mission, 122.9 being one of them. But the most commonly used air-to-air chat frequency, if that's what you're referring to, is 123.45.

122.9 will be a CTAF frequency, not used for air-to-air per se. 122.75 is the "official" air-to-air chatter freq, but 123.45 is used often.

Looks like you are in Southeastern Kentucky or Northeastern Tennessee.... try this link for Kentucky Air Evac Helicopters.... don't really know which freq Wings 3 uses for ops, but they communicate with UK Med on the Heliport freq when they are flying to Lexington.... You also have a few Air Evac Lifeteam bases in that area now.... This is the link for the Tennessee Air Medical freqs (Wings 1 & 2 and Lifestar).

Can you even hear air to air communications from the ground?? -OG
Actually, if both aircraft are in range it is quite possible.... and listening to some of the off-the-wall discussions that take place on the "chat" freqs can be really entertaining.... Within range of the ground facilities it is possible to hear both sides as well...
