Frisco Radio stuttering/lag?

For the past couple of days I have occasionally hear one or two Frisco FD unit that sounds LIKE he is stuttering but I think it is some kind of lag? Did anyone else notice this? Product of switching to digital radios?

Generally most of the message gets choppy and it repeats like 1 1 Pat pat tient tient 1 patient pri pri pri 1 1 priority 1.... like that

that can come from having a radio not turned down when someone is transmitting next to you, like in analog you get feed back if your radio is not turned down when the person next to you is transmitting, same with digital but you hear the repeat on the persons radio next to you
