The RMRFI will premiere the newly named and enhanced Front Range Air Show during the 2007 event. The Saturday air show will feature precision solo and formation aerobatic performances by both local and national air show pilots. On Sunday, the air show will highlight historic war birds and open with a special ceremony honoring the nation's veterans, in keeping with a distinctive military theme planned for the event's closing day.

[FONT=Times New Roman, Times, serif]The RMRFI is located at the Front Range Airport, on the I-70 corridor just 6 miles southeast of Denver International Airport. The airport's 3989-acre site offers extensive tie-down space for visiting aircraft, abundant exhibit space for vendors and plenty of convenient FREE parking for people arriving by car (See Event Layout).

Inter-Squad is like FRS, but for the Military =)

From Wikipedia,

UNICOM, or UNiversal Integrated COMmunication, is an air-ground communication facility operated by a private agency to provide private advisory station (PAS) service at uncontrolled aerodromes and airports with no Air Traffic Services (ATS) air-ground communication facility.

Last year there was some use of one or two of the State Simplex freqs. I wouldn't be surprised if Network First came into play, specifically Blue NE, since that's now an option.

How about designating an FRS channel in advance, then anyone who goes can call and see who else is there. Or maybe even make it a standing deal at any event to use a certain channel, either carrier squelch, or a predesignated PL.

Another thought - if you want to listen to 2 scanners at once, RS has an 'aircraft adapter', Model: 42-2495, which has two 1/8" mono plugs to one 1/8" stereo jack. You plug your stereo earphones in, and get one radio in each ear! Price is $5.99.

I'll be there at least one day!

Here are the usages I found on Saturday:

FTG TOWER 120.2
Air Boss 125.95
FTG GROUND 124.7
FTG RAMP 121.75
FTG ARRIVAL 127.1
FTG ATIS 119.025
FTG UNICOM 122.95
FTG BUSINESS OPS 453.6000
F1 VOL. OPERATIONS 461.8875
UNKNOWN USE 468.4625
ANNOUNCER channel 463.4625 (people calling announcer)
APD AND ADAMS S.O. 467.1625 and 866.5125 (I-TAC 1)
APD EXPLORERS 462.5500
RAMP PERSONNEL 469.7125

In short, more than enough to keep your scanner busy. You might want to take some good earphones - the noise level can be high, with aircraft, the announcer P.A., crowd noise, music, etc., etc.

Sunday Airshow

I will bring an FRS radio with me on Sunday and I will periodically be calling for "RadioReference Members" on channel 8, sub-channel 23. If that doesn't work, I will just keep my eyes peeled for folks with numerous radios strapped to their belt and Erik with his "fishing pole" antenna. ; )

If you are looking for me, I will have a black and yellow Motorola FRS radio, a PRO-96, and possibly a PRO-94. I will be wearing beige shorts and a white collard shirt with red stripes.

I hope to see you guys there!

The RedStar's A/A was 133.625, and the F-15 Demo was on 376.025.

I shoot with the Canon Rebel XT and use a 75-300mm lens, however I'm saving up some pennies for a bigger lens. I'm looking at the pictures from work and they look awful! I have to Kill the resolution to get them onto RR.com

Excellent combo, excellent photos. Thanks!!
IMHO, you don't really need a longer lens... you're getting around 1.5x with the digital to 35mm equivalent conversion factor, so it's like having a 450mm lens anyway.
Wolf has a 2x converter for around $80 if you want something cheap to experiment with...
I know what you mean about "awful"... I'm my own worst critic, too. Trust me, your photos would hold their own on Airliners.net any day.
