FrostFest

I'm getting excited about attending my first FrostFest. I got my Technician in November and will be testing for General at FrostFest.

My oldest daughter has been with me when I'm chatting on 2M and she got excited about 2M operation. So she is going to test this summer (when college is not in session). She will be going to FrostFest with me.

We will be looking at getting some parts to make a wire antenna for HF receiving (Have a drake SW8 receiver). And will be checking out HF eqpt to use with my general. It is probably going to be a long time before I can get a proper HF transceiver as I have to save some money. But I can start to look.

I'm looking forward to meeting the locals at FrostFest.

I wish I could say I'd see you there...but that weekend is my stepson's birthday and he's a college freshman, so we're headed to Charlottesville the night before, and will probably be passing through Richmond about the time everybody's packing up for the night.

Maybe next year.

I'll be there as a volunteer for RATS. You'll walk right past me no doubt, as I'll be taking tickets for a while in the morning. I'm excited too, it keeps getting bigger and better each year and this one's hopefully going to follow suit.

Congrats on getting your ticket and good luck with the general test. I'm sure you'll love frostfest. Always a good time. As you're walking around, stop by the District 6 ARES table and say hi. I'll be there, off and on all day. Hope to see you there.

I will stop by. My only fear about FrostFest is that my desires far outstrip my budget.....
