I have 2 handheld FRS/GMRS radios and will be getting the Diamond D-130nj antenna. My question is how can I transmit from the 2 handhelds with the Diamond outdoor antenna instead of the rubber duck antenna? What connections do I need to connect the radio to the outdoor antenna?

FRS radios are not allowed to transmit on any outside antenna. This is why they are not removeable. However, if you have a GMRS llicense, you can use an outside antenna, just not with the radios you have.

FRS/GMRS Antenna

If you have GMRS radios that have the 7 FRS channels in them and you have a GMRS license you can connect an antenna to the radio.

You cannot connect an antenna to a FRS radio.

Sec. 95.194 (FRS Rule 4) FRS units.
(c) You may not attach any antenna, power amplifier, or other apparatus to an FRS unit that has not been FCC certified as part of that FRS unit.
