Hi. Looking at the FT-2900R service manual, there's an empty jack on the control board labeled "J 2004" to connect an "OPTION-UNIT" (as described in the connection diagram). Looks like this is a 14-pin jack, with GMSK, MIC IN/OUT, and some clock signals going to it.
Anyone have any idea what "OPTION-UNIT"'s would be compatible with the FT-2900R, if any? I see Vertex sells Voice Inversion, Encryption, and DTMF Paging option boards for their line of HT's, guessing something like that but hoping someone might have more information.
