FT-60R Vehicle Audio

Hey everyone!

I'm currently using a Yaesu FT-60 as a mobile in my Jeep Wrangler until I can afford a real mobile. Having a rag top it is fairly noisy commuting on the highway. Since I have an XM radio receiver I was wondering if I could use the FT-60 cloning cable (CT-27) to run from the HT mic/sp jack to the audio input of my XM receiver so I can receive audio via my Jeep speakers. Anyone try this before? Any advice would be great!

Probably not the best idea, since the plug has 4 contacts. Get one of the Yaesu speaker mics, which has an earphone jack, and then run a mono patch cord from there.

I've done this with my Subaru Outback's aux audio input on the sat receiver. Works fine.

You ran the CT-27 cloning cable fm ur HT to your XM audio input? And it worked well?

No, I made and ran an audio patch cable from the FT-60R's earphone jack to the aux input in my Outback's console.
