I've been using the Yaesu SBH-28 drop-in charger with my FT70D. It's not a fast charger but does the trick.

The "rapid charger" is a bit of a misnomer for the SBH-28. It takes just as long to recharge ny FT70D charges whether it's dropped in or plugged in.

I suggest in addition to the drop in charger that you get a spare battery pack. That way you can just put the batter by itself in the charger while using another fully charged pack. With intermittent use the spare pack should be fully charged before the one on the radio is discharged. I've done this with all my HT's over many years.

That's a good idea especially with the FT-70D because the OE battery capacity is terrible.

But I have one, HRO, here in Woodbridge..... Picked up another GP-3 Antenna on coupon special thru Saturday, and some jumper cables.

Having one of the big amateur radio stores in your town should make finding things you are looking for very easy!

I like to use to use a battery eliminator when in the car as the 70dr is my mobile fusion receiver, and I picked up a bunch of DC power plugs with wires that I connect to DC power supplies directly or with connectors. The DC power plugs work with the ft2dr, also. All this to minimize use of those rather expensive batteries of which I have 2. The batteries retain a decent charge despite sitting in the car for relatively long periods.

I understand about the price and thought it would be easy to find them for less, but if you don't know the part number it may be hard to find them. I was on their site getting a new battery for a very old radio (their price on that is the lowest at this point) and saw they had what you were looking for so I posted it so you could have the correct number to search for a better price.
