A Loveland man is in intensive care at Poudre Valley Hospital following an accident Monday in south Fort Collins.
Ernest Molina, 18, suffered severe injuries when his Toyota pickup truck hit Kenneth Harlan’s Lexus head-on around 1:30 p.m. in the 5700 block of South College Avenue, near Tynan’s Nissan, according to Colorado State Patrol Cpl. Bart Trippel.
Molina was headed south on College when he drifted through the center lane and left northbound lane and hit Harlan, a 67-year-old Estes Park resident who suffered moderate injuries, Trippel said. It is believed Molina fell asleep at the wheel, Trippel said.
Molina, who was not wearing a seat belt, was in critical condition in the surgical/neurological intensive care unit, and Harlan, who was buckled up, was in fair condition in the surgical unit, according to a nursing supervisor.
