Man stabbed at Wal-Mart in stable condition at Medical Center of Rockies
By Coloradoan staff • June 10, 2008
A 20-year-old Ault man was listed in stable condition at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland on Monday night recovering from a stab wound.
Frank McConnell was reportedly stabbed once in the abdomen inside the Wal-Mart Supercenter, 1250 E.Magnolia St., Fort Collins, about 4:30 p.m. When police arrived, the suspect had already fled, according to a news statement.
Witnesses provided a description of the suspect's vehicle, which was located in the 2800 block of Tulane Drive.
The 17-year-old driver was detained and taken to the police department for questioning.
Police are investigating two additional incidents that might be related to the same suspect.
The first occurred at 3:40 p.m. in the 2000 block of Mathews Street when a male reported being harassed on his bike. Twenty-five minutes later at 949 S. Taft Hill Road, a 25-year-old man was hurt during an assault. Witnesses provided suspect and vehicle information indicating the same person might be involved.
The suspect's name is being withheld by police because of his age.
Detectives were still interviewing all parties Monday night.
