The article in the denverpost/9news says that 4 communities in Weld County already contract with Weld SO. I'm sure it's been posted before, but what 4 are they?

"The sheriff's office provides police service for Hudson, Keenesburg, Mead and Severance, and on Jan. 1 it will start service for Garden City, south of Greeley. The sheriff's office also has a contract to provide security at Aims Community College." SRC: Fort Lupton may drop cops, contract with Weld County Sheriff's Office | Greeley Tribune

Thanks! I assumed Garden City already contracted with them? Do they contract with Greeley currently? I didn't think they would have their own department.

Interesting to see this about Fort Lupton but not about some of the other small towns in Weld County - Gilcrest, Platteville, Kersey, etc. Will be interesting to see what happens.

These budget things don't hit everyone equally. Good for Ft. Lupton for trying to figure out how to pay the bills, and for realizing they can't pay for everything.
Congress could take a lesson from these guys.

Evans is the contract agency covering Garden City and that agreement will end this year. Evans has recently reduced staffing within all city services.

Gilcrest has an interesting history involving town council politics and officers not sticking around as a result. Weld has covered Gilcrest several times in the past when the PD is down to zero officers.

Platteville has been stable for years.
