If the calls that you are hearing are accidents on the highways in Fort Worth, it is likely on layer 1 on the talkgroup below...
72221c36DFWFD 12 MVA HwyCh. 12 MVA Highway Fire-Tac

The channel name has changed and been referred to as several different things, including, "the highway channel", "FDPD", "Channel 12", originally it was designated as "FW EVNT FDIC" meaning Fort Worth Event Fire Department Incident Command".

I believe the idea is to have Medstar, FWPD, and FWFD units all be on the same channel to coordinate and share information about the location of accidents on the highways for smoother ops, and less back-and-forth between units/dispatchers/and other departments.

I'm not sure that all of the radios from Medstar and FWPD have the channel yet, or if they do, it may not be located in a quickly accessible way. Hopefully, it will be used more and more to make things better. One problem I've noticed is that neighboring cities(Burleson, Haltom City, Forest Hill, etc.) that might provide mutual aid to highway accident calls don't have access to the channel, but they still have access to FWFD Channel 5, so you'll hear those there still.

If you're referring to a different channel, I expect it to be a similar setup as above, just on another talkgroup that we haven't ID'd.
Happy Scanning,
Ben

They have the new TG, that they call "Police to Fire" "Ch. 12" "Highway channel" that Ben mentioned. That is TGID 7222 on Layer 1.

They also have the Fort Worth Fire, Police and MedSTAR channel that they have had that is pretty active. That is TGID 6808.

The new one I've heard them say is "Ch. 13", that they seem to be using for medical calls, possibly related to Coronavirus. The auto-dispatch will say the unit's name, no channel designation (like with the new highway channel), give the address and map grid and refer to MDC for incident type. You will then hear the dispatcher, after units check en route on Fire 4, tell them to check their notes for call details and tell them to switch to Ch. 13. I have heard them say a few times something like, "the patient is possibly experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19, check your notes and switch to channel 13." I do not know if this is a new TG all together or possibly just Fire 13, TGID 5360, that is already in the database. I haven't had time to look into this yet.

Upon further monitoring, 7223 on Layer 1 is likely what you're referring to. It's called "Fort Worth Event EMS IC", or at least it was. Perhaps they've shortened that to the what you heard. I've seen some cross-patching between 7223 and 6718 Med-Dispatch 2 as well.

I have heard the reference to Channel 13 also, but have not had time to do a throrough Discovery or Unitrunker run, to research the channel. Working in whats called an "essential industry" right now.

Quick listen and search I got this. Ben is correct 7223, comes up as a patch in Unitrunker. I heard Eng. 16 assigned to Ch. 13 and as you can see in the snap. a Join did come up on 7223. I am in the process of accumulating Radio IDs, fortunately I already has Eng. 16. Also heard a MedStar unit calling Eng. 8 on Med Dis 2, heard both sides of the converstation.

Do you have to program Layer 1 for FTW Fire to hear the 7222/7223 highway channel?

Thank you. One more question. Can I input all the frequencies for Layer 1 & Layer 2 into one site (Layer 2 is already working) or do I need to set up Layer 1 as its own site for it to work correctly? I have a bcd325p2.
Thank you again,

Eric
