Two year old Yaesu FTM-100DR simply won't turn on. Worked fine before.

Any tips or tricks? Is it a doorstop now?

Is the power supply on?
Did a fuse blow?
Did the DC power cable disconnect, or become slightly dislodged?
Visually check the cord that connects the face to the radio. Unplug and plug it back in.

A shot in the dark.

Does the FTM-100D have a remotable head? Some radios with remotable heads have a small fuse on the main board so that if the power to the head shorts to ground, the fuse pops rather than burning up the power supply circuitry in the radio. Unfortunately, these are usually surface mount fuses that require a trip to the repair shop to replace.

Yeah, when you're connecting the head to the radio body make sure it's powered off. I zapped a FTM-400DR that way...

More than that, make sure the power is disconnected from the radio as there is always some power going to the control head...even when the radio is "Off".
