It appears that list may not have been updated in quite some time. Didn't I read on RadioReference that Piscataway PD and all agencies on the Woodbridge Township TRS are now P25 encrypted full time?

What ever info you find that is missing, go ahead and add it to that list, take your time you should have no problems if you follow the info (outline) that is there. :)

Edison Police, Woodbridge Police (on the Detective and Special Ops channels [main dispatch is clear]), Perth Amboy Police/Fire (on the Woodbridge TRS only), Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office (selected channels I was told), Ocean Twp. Police, Pt. Pleasant Beach Boro, I believe Kearny Police is, Deal Police, Jackson Twp. Police, Franklin Twp. Police (Somerset Cnty), South Plainfield Police (on the Middlesex Cnty TRS), and I believe Toms River Police, just to name a few. I heard that Piscataway Police is currently in the process of switching to full-time encryption as well.

Thats really too bad that Piscataway Police are also planning on going encrypted in addition to their switch over to P25. With all the these departments encrypting transmissions (or planning on it in the near future) its almost not even worth it to upgrade scanners.

In addition, the Monroe Township (Middlesex County) Police are encrypted on their TRS.

EDIT - my bad, didn't realize Piscataway was going forward with their P25 upgrade after the FCC changes in April...

It would appear as though Middlesex County is leading the pack in terms of fully encrypted PD dispatch frequencies. Was there an incident that prompted this, a recommendation from their County Prosecutor, a very active radio salesperson, or just coincidence?

Kearny PD is not 100% encrypted. Sometimes its on...sometimes its off...Sometimes you hear both sides of the conversation, sometimes just the dispatcher. I've noticed Dispatch has been in the clear for some time now. It all depends if their ENC button is on or off. To me 100% ENC means there is no way for them to TX in the clear.

Rahway

They just switched over.

Looks like they switched to P25.
Current License WIL967 Shows FM 20K0F3E. However there is a modification was submitted kind late 11/12 for 8K10F1E or
8K10F1EP25 Phase I C4FM voice (typically used for single-site systems; P25 mode in RRDB) Looks like Rahway jumped the gun before the mod was approved?

So I assume they are now P25 with ENC:(. Data base was change earlier to show encryption. I am now gong to modify the DB to show P25 ENC for PD/EMS
Need a little more information though here perhaps the NAC. Also check to see if p25 is also being used on their FIRE freq 501.13750

Thanks
