Hi! It's Deagle again! I was wondering if anyone wanted to just send some cool frequencies here, because my normal programmed channels have been quiet lately. In other news, I am well on my way to getting certified! Just some more studying should do the trick. Thanks everyone!

Why not just set up some Search Banks and spend time seeking out new/unreported stuff

Finding previously unknown frequencies is part of the fun for many radio enthusiasts though! What exactly is your definition of "cool" frequencies and what are your monitoring capabilities? No one radio can receive everything that's out there.

Only moderators can lock a thread, you'll have to click on "Report" and explain why, if that's what you really want.

Good luck on what I assume you're referring to as your amateur radio license exam!

YOU, do not get to close a thread, moderators do.
have you tried the space station ?
145.8 145.825 437.55 437.8
and to see where they are,

try some fed stuff.
most is cell now, but they still use these,

listen in to the CCRs, cheap chinese radios,
these are the default freqs,

try some local ham stuff

military aviation refuel tracts,

scan some public safety bands,

inter-op stuff,
i recommend the five 8tacs for full time listening

I always like to see if various hotels, hospitals, schools, office buildings, etc. have security guards--and if so where they might be talking.
You can also get some great ideas from shopping around in the FCC data for your area. In a place like Fairfax, you might try selecting a license for something very close to you, and then doing a proximity search. A 1 or 2 mile search might bring you a surprising amount of stuff to investigate.

what I meant by cool was just anyones personal definition of it. If they found an intresting frequency, one worth sharing, just "dump" it here! It's more fun that way then getting it from a cold database that looks like an exel sheet that was never finished

as for the thread thing... thats my mistake, thanks for the clarification!

thanks for the thanks!

Thanks for the support! here are my stats rn

@dudeagle are you a fan of the railroads/trains? That's one thing to check out, it can be pretty entertaining! Since you're up in Fairfax, it should be active, but in spurts. Amtrak's Auto Train is in Lorton, so you monitor the on/off vehicle loading ops. Plenty of freight action as well. You'll find them in the 160-163mhz,, but I'm not sure what your set up is like. The railroads aren't 24/7 busy, but you'll get them in spurts. I'm south of you in Virginia Beach, and the railroads can be a bit more hit or miss here. Another is Aviation, both civil and military. You're smack in some busy airspace, and aviation comms can get intersting as well.

Ham wise, I'd monitor all the bands available to us Technician level holders. Personally, I like tomonitor 6 meters. When the conditions are right, you can bounce a signal apretty good distance. There's a reason why some call 6 meters the magic band lol. Feel free to ask me and others for more ideas/suggestions.
