Because Squad 51 had the largest first in response area in the world. From the Los Angeles harbor to the Kern county line. I guess Los Angeles city contracted with the county for paramedic services at LAX airport as well.

I thought that was Long Beach El Segundo Airport for the DC-3 crash or are thinking about the one scene where you see the LAX Tower?

Same thing with Adam-12!

I was thinking of the time they were flying home from a conference and a guy has a heart attack on the plane and they needed to get their equipment out of the cargo hold. Squad 51 met them at the airport.

Yeah they would be at some scene in downtown LA and then out in the middle of nowhere and/or some farm.

A couple weeks ago while reading a BOLO for a missing person, a Hillsborough County dispatcher said, "Last seen walking barefoot with black socks...I guess he was carrying his black socks..."
He was taking them for a walk.

You can tell when the police have had enough of fireworks calls when an exasperated officer says, over the air mind you, "don't these people know that fireworks are legal in Indiana?" Made me think of Popeye's 'that's all I can stands, I can't stands no more' saying. LOL :D

Too many people don't care to "know" as all they know is "ME, ME, ME! I, I, I!" and nobody else but themselves... Sad but oh so true...
There are alot of entitled people posts on reddit and YouTube videos that support this. "I don't care if they are dying, treat my cut finger!"
"Give me your house, I like your yard better than mine!" SMH

4301 to County: All hands working, fireworks still going off in the house. Occupants at neighbor's house.
4601 to County: Per police ammo in the building.

Funny, they just toned out the Fire Marshall.....

Turned out rather severe with a 2nd alarm. Pulled out all FF from inside attack to take a defensive posture with master streams once they knew some of the explosions were the ammo going off. Also pulled a 4.5 inch line in.

We had 4 structure fires and 5, unless I missed a few dispatches, brush fires here in the Grand Junction area yesterday from 1600 to 2130. Since we're under Level 1 Fire Restrictions and all personal fireworks are banned I'm not sure how they got started though. *cough cough*
The next door neighbor firing aerial mortars until 11pm assured me she knew what she was doing......she had her 1/2' line (garden hose) fully charged in case her house caught fire.

I'm not trying to downplay such things. I added the remark because I'm sure everyone whose yard or house caught fire from their fireworks figured "We're just shooting off fireworks and having fun: no harm in that. What could possible go wrong? We're careful" Just like everyone I took to the hospital with burns and worse from their own fireworks.

HEHE Johnny was always going after the ladies which obviously a good thing but in his case, he was like an overgrown high school student.
Interesting that the producers were careful to put together the clown and straight man. Johnny and Roy and to lesser extent, Chet and Marco.
NBC was on a roll with such concepts with the huge success of LAUGHIN with Dan Rowan and Dick Martin.

ammo doesn't explode - even when fired from the gun. No reason to pull out because ammo is burning. The fireworks are much more dangerous. Ammo burns really hot, but that's all. When the powder in loaded ammo catches, the brass blows apart but since it weighs a fraction of what the bullet weighs, the case moves, not the bullet.

Saw a bolt action rifle that went through a fire while loaded. The round in the chamber went through several walls and lodged in a brick exterior wall. The rounds in the magazine blew the bottom off the magazine. The bullets were still in the mag but the brass cases looked like twisted aluminum foil.
