SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CBS) ―A conservative activist and Illinois comptroller candidate was escorted from the
Illinois State Capitol building Wednesday when he tried to remove a sign put up by an atheist group.

The sign reads: "At the time of the winter solstice, let reason prevail. There are no gods, no devils, no
angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world. Religion is just myth and superstition that hardens
hearts and enslaves minds."

For the second year in a row, the Capitol also has an aluminum Festivus pole commemorating the fictional holiday created in "Seinfeld."
Best part of the story.

Maybe Christians should place signs up everywhere that say if you are a Atheist you will burn in hell and suffer the wrath of The Almighty God and that their god mother earth will not save them. These atheist morons just hate the fact that some people have something to believe in.

Why should Christians lower themselves when it is better to move upward toward perfection? Such is contrary to scripture, Christians are commanded to live apart from worldly entanglements yet so many sink into the abyss of politics and "the pursuit of happiness" (wealth in the original wording). In light of truth one can say these fake Christians skate on far thinner ice than any atheist for they are the non believers in their own teaching... hypocrites.

When you insult my belief do you insult me? No, I feel quite comfortable in my belief and you are no more than a buzzing fly, a minor annoyance unworthy of my attention. Only the insecure feel threatened and react to it, yea though I walk through the valley of death I shall fear no mosquito for I am smarter than a bug brain.

Was it not Jesus himself who spoke of the unbelievers (That would include the atheists) that in the end days it would be better for them to run to the hills and hide in the mountains. For the days are coming says the Lord when they (the unbelievers) will say to the hills cover me and to the mountains fall on me. Was it not Jesus who tore up the tables of those who were buying and selling in the temple in a fit of rage and who said to those that they have made the temple a den of robbers? It is my friend not wrong or unChristian to defend God against the unbelievers who are trying to destroy any belief in God.
Standing up for what you believe in and spreading the word of God is what you are called to do if you are Christian.

Ok I took my medication:
My point is that these atheists groups seem to want to push their agenda to get a reaction much like PETA does by forcing it down peoples throats by plasting posters every where saying there is no God or God does not exists where ever there is a religious display. They are just trying to provoke a reaction by those who do believe in a God is all they are doing. People are free to celebrate any religion they want to in this country and if you do not believe in any God or Gods or religion then that's fine but is there any need for what the atheists group called freedom from religion has done? As I said should Christians do like them and plaster posters and banners all over the place saying that the atheist group will burn in hell for their unbelief in Jesus Christ? Now if there is any thing I would like to clarify its that I said atheists are morons, let me clarify myself,I think that those trying to provoke people like this group has done and there are many others like them are the morons.

"Was it not Jesus himself who spoke of the unbelievers (That would include the atheists) that in the end days it would be better for them to run to the hills and hide in the mountains."
No, he warned the residents of Jerusalem to come down from the rooftops (the upper floor of the houses where they rest in the afternoon heat much like a siesta) and flee into the hills to escape the destruction of the city in the battle of Armageddon, a valley to the north used as a staging area for the attack. So what's this all about? When the Antichrist sits in the Holiest of Holies (the inner sanctum of the temple) and declares himself above God the stuff is about to hit the fan and it's time to run.

"For the days are coming says the Lord when they (the unbelievers) will say to the hills cover me and to the mountains fall on me."
No, mountains are kings and hills are lesser officials as in the story of Mohammad and the mountain. Those who are not raptured at the midpoint of the Tribulation will suffer the wrath of the Lamb and seek protection by secular governments and the military. Oh you mean the Rapture doesn't happen at the beginning? NO! Believers will suffer the wrath of the Antichrist but spared the wrath of God as the Antichrist and the false prophet are defeated as are all their followers.

This was just the beginning of a huge display of ignorance regarding interpretation of scripture and prophesy in particular, anyone who takes allegory and figurative speech literally is a fool. Look beyond the Bible and educate yourselves on the manner in which it is written, fools become wise through education and understanding. Once you feel comfortable with it you may tackle something a bit more difficult, the missing Gospels of the Gnostics or in other words what the established church doesn't want you to know.

The epistolary has spoken, are you listening?

Knowledge will set you free, or do you want to be a prisoner of dogma all your life? Once you understand your enemy you'll be on your way and it is not another sect, nor another religion, no, not even the atheists but the church itself. "Come out of her..." and you will be free to enjoy your personal relationship with your Father and your brother, his firstborn Son.

Yes Jesus is speaking of the End of Days And The judgment on Jerusalem that will be so horrible that the unhappy state of barrenness will be preferred (cf. Luke 1:25). People will call to the mountains and hills to shield them from the impending judgment. The key point I wanted to raise was that Judgement is coming against those in Jerusalem and around the world. I guess I could have used a better passage to reflect my point more clearly then the one I chose. Now about this passage and judgement we come to another similar passage in the book of Revelations again there is a cry to the mountains that has all the earmarks of attempting to hide from the direct judgment of God Himself. Experiencing the wrath of God would definitely be a fate worse than physical death. In the book of Revelation there is an interestingly this similar quote.
And the kings of the earth, the great men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?" Rev. 6:15-17 NKJV. So this actually reflects my point more clearly that there will be those on earth who will try and hide from the judgement of God.Those seemingly would include the unbelievers and the unfaithful among all others left on the earth at that time. Now if you notice in the passage and to counter your point that the mountains and the rocks are actually Kings and lesser officials this is false. As you notice in the reading of this passage in REV it was the Kings,Commanders and the Slaves that hid themselves in the caves from judgement. So I think you need to study that theory a bit more closely.

Lastly you of all people should know I do have an open mind when it comes to understanding the Bible after all don't you remember my thread UFOs in the bible? You also speak of Gnosticism of which represent a segment of the Early Christian community that believed that salvation lay not in merely worshipping Christ of which I believe is absolutley false.Such discussion however would require a hole new thread to debate these subjects, meanings, understandings and the validity of this theory.
