Thanks for the reply! It's my understanding that the P25 System will have encryption for all LE, and all others are in the clear. Looks like we have about 2 years till we have to fork out big bucks for that Digital scanner.

I happen to know a LEO in that area. And they will have swat and Tac encryption but main dispatch channels will be left open.

I’m kind of confused it says that fire radios will have “encryption support” does that mean fire radios can hear encrypted law stuff but fire will not be encrypted?

They have to set up the Fire Radios to be able to communicate on the encrypted Talk Groups. Currently Fire Radios in SNO County have all the LE Talk Groups, just in different Banks. Right, fire at this time will not be encrypted.
