Likewise, I've noticed a trend in forums where some folks seem unable or unwilling to put even the minimal sincere effort into researching something on their own, instead taking the easy way out by asking others to spend their valuable time explaining basic concepts that have already been covered here or elsewhere, sometimes ad nauseam/ad infinitum. Many of these queries can be answered with a simple Google search, often within the first three results.
Just say no to spoon feeding. 🚫🥄
Well, I have worked with ID clients. I understand. Sadly, they do indeed need spoon feeding since their FSIQs are below 20.
In RR forums, I remember a fellow who was 75 years old. He got zip when he asked for help. I don't know how old you are at present, but as you age some of your cognitive abilities decline. If you like, go to "Google Scholar": if you are interested in reading about this.
His last radio was a banked Bearcat. The same thing happened. "Here you go, read this." I might add the "Easier to Read" guides are not so for some folks.
So, for those who have low frustration tolerance, it is best to be cordial to people who don't possess the acumen you possess.
I know it is frustrating at times. But, "basic concepts" for you are not the same for all. They have improved the search function on this page, but it is still like the streets of San Antonio, confusing at times.
Here is what I found on the Google search:
"In Ham Radio transceivers, waterfall display is
an almost real time display of activity on a particular region of the amateur band. It is seen as a chart which changes over time with frequency on the horizontal axis and time on the vertical axis. Signal strength is represented by the colour density of the display."
I did not read anything that explained the "functional relationship" between the X & Y axis. How would this new eye candy help me scan better? Again, the Google search never said "why" this was necessary. What do people do with "waterfalling?"
By the way, you are one of the main contributors in Forums. You have helped a lot of folks. Keep up the good work. We do appreciate the help you've given to others.
God bless.
