Is there anything on the drawing board, or maybe any rumors, of a new Uniden or Radio Shack mobile scanner?

While digital is nice, it hasn't really hit my area yet. It would be nice to see something the size of the BCT-8 (or its sibling, the RS Pro-2051) that had alpha tags, CTCSS/DCS, and computer control.

The BC898T is nice... but too big for me.

Heck, even a mobile version of the BC246T would be nice!

Just curious if anyone knew of anything...

As of right now the only two in the works are the GRE PRO-97, and the Uniden PRO-2051.

The 94, 95, and 2052 are being discontinued, as is the the race scanner that the 99 replaces.

The current base only will soon be replaced in the next year or so ... Not sure when GRE's DT will go to work on R&D or get TA'ing for its replacement.

The current Uniden-for-Uniden is the in production BCD396T, and a branch of SportCats with NASCAR Labels....

Thanks Milf.

Guess that leaves me to ponder a Uniden 796 or BCT-8, or else a RS Pro-2096 or Pro-2051.

It seems like there isn't much in the way of mobile offerings between $200 and $500. Shucks!

Hopefully Uniden or Radio Shack remedy that at some point.

<now I'm really kicking myself for ditching my 780!> :x
