Our ARC83-lite software (only $19.95) for RadioShack PRO83 will be available December 10th 2004.

THANKS!!!

The ScanCat demo looked rushed and "ungenuine". It is slow and has much leftovers from other radios supported in the software.

The demo is less of a demo than it is a powerpoint show :)

I use some FREE software I found on the Internet (I gotta look to find the web site again) to load my Pro-82 memory and because it interacts with MS Excel it is very easy to use. I bought the RS software (and cable) with the Pro-82 but it would not work.

Ok it is called Pro-link and it is here:

Pro-82?, do you mean Pro-83? I don't think there is a Pro-82 that was ever made!!!

OK, i stand corrected, so why did that guy post that info on this thread?

You know when a bunch of you are talking and someone walks up and says "Yeah that happened to me too" then walks away and none of you can figure out what they were talking about...

Now you know :)

Wow, pretty touchy group!

Maybe "that guy" was just suggesting that if Pro-83 owners would go to the glyff.net site and suggest through the discussion board there that Glyff extend his FREE software to include the Pro-83, just maybe the author of the FREE software would make something good (oh, did I mention FREE) also cover the Pro-83... Comments on that web site seem to imply that Glyff would be willing to extend his software to include recent scanners.

Nahhhh, couldn't be, "that guy" probably just wanted to have a Burger King fir dinner too. Sorry if I offended.

Regards, JB

Whle searching the message board that was associated with the link http://www.glyff.net/software/prolink/ I did a search on Pro-83.

This is what I found:

Glyff Computer Services Forum Index

Information

No topics or posts met your search criteria.

Was that burger a nuke or a non-nuke variety?

JohnBreen posted a message on the ProLink forums requesting that I add support for the Pro-83 scanner to ProLink. I'm looking for information about the protocol and port settings that the Pro-83 uses. I can't seem to find any information online.

If anyone has any information, please let me know. Either E-Mail me at junkmail@glyff.net (yes, it's a real address) or post a message on the ProLink forums at http://www.glyff.net/phpBB2/index.php?c=3

Thanks,
Riley
