If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a channel set for selective call with record. It continues to record fo 10 minutes. It’s set for manual reset. Any ideas?

Sounds like it is doing what you programmed it to do.

Do you require it to be in "Manual Reset" mode?

There is a "Voice Message Recording Limit" setting in tab D7 which is defaulted to 10 minutes. I suppose you could change that (I've never tried it).

I use "Delay N Reset" and 30 seconds vs. "Manual Reset". On alert, the radio will record up to 30 seconds after the alert (which is usually more than enough time for my needs) and then reset itself.

I’ll give it a try. On a minitor it will stop recording on manual reset but the channel will remain open till you press the button squelch button.

Looks like revert reset will do the trick. Now i only have to get a call to see what happens.

I'd actually prefer a simple auto reset vs. a fixed time. However, as the PPS says - the alert and recording will end on a normal auto reset if/when there is a break in the transmission of more than 500 ms (1/2 second)... that just doesn't work for me.... I'd like the ability to configure that 500 ms value - set to maybe 2 seconds and then have the auto reset kick in...
