I have been programming conventional channels into my G5 … with a G3 on the way … and am running into an issue I can’t find addressed in the Unication documentation.
I first load the channels into their own knob positions, in some distant zone. They are set for Monitor Mode, with the PL tone loaded in, then placed into a scan list in a zone in use … however … whenever the channel hits it just shows as “CSQ” on two lines on the unit’s screen. The G5 never shows the name of the channel. Not MTV Fire, or L&M Medics, or Life Star … it shows up as CSQ.
They were set up for Selective Call, then I changed to Monitor Mode to see if that fixed it. In the scan list they are Normal Scan. The PPS is set to match the CTCSS tone, rather than disabled. One knob position has 2 Tone enabled, the other has CSQ. In the 2-Tone knob position it still shows CSQ rather than the channel name.
How do I correct this so I can see the channel name?
The knob is named, each channel is named.
