• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Having an issue with my G5 getting it to track a 700 MHz P25 Phase 2 system, specifically a new Harris/Tait system being implemented for Washington Dept of Transportation.
I have entered the active control channel freqs, WACN and site ID being broadcast verified thru pro96com software and my SDS200 scanner. The system can be tracked with no issues with my SDS200, but when I try with the G5 it just says scanning for several minutes with no signal strength bars then goes out of range.

I am able to scan various 700 and 800 MHz Phase 1 and 2 systems around the Portland metro area with my G5 with no issues at all, in fact the Oregon Dept of Transportation system is also a Harris Phase 2 700 system. I also tried changing the WACN and system ID to wildcard, all F's with no luck either.

The system is still being built which may cause some weird issues, but it can be scanned with the SDS. Also no encryption noted yet, so can't be that.
Any one have any ideas? Thanks

OK here it is, I deleted out all the systems and channel positions that I am using and that work and just left the troublemaker system. Like I mentioned this is a system still being built out and so I don't have many talkgroups for it yet, so I just have it in Trunk TG Monitor mode.

I had more control channels in it previously but when troubleshooting I took out all but the ones that I knew were active and in range.

Thanks for checking.
