• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Curious if anyone else experiencing a similar issue since upgrading to v2.02 (my radio is a G5 450-512 split): while monitoring a UHF analog conventional channel, if the signal is slightly fringe, upon the transmission ending the squelch will hold open until another transmission is received or the channel is physically changed. Not specific to any particular channel, and in all scenarios the channels have a PL/DPL programmed. Intermittent, but frequent. Never had this happen until the firmware upgrade. TIA

I am experiencing this on my G5 after upgrade to 2.02 as well. I have tried upping the squelch to mid and high, but it still does it. I'm also using tones. Seem like a firmware bug. I emailed support@unication.com, haven't heard back yet.

Did you ever find a solution?

Only solution I found was rolling the pager back to 1.35. Like you mentioned, adjusting the squelch threshold brought no changes. I've had the radio for 2+ years, all channels are set to low squech setting and never experienced the issue. Was happening constantly with 2.02, regardless of signal strength.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. How were you able to get 1.35? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Support got back to me. Their official fix for this issue is:

Factory reset the radio
Read from radio to the PPS
Rebuild your configuration with this new profile

It appears to have worked for me. Frustrating to have to start over, but.... yeah.

Hopefully this helps someone else.

Thanks for the update. Personally, I'll stick with 1.35 rather than having to rebuild the codeplug. Hopefully you're problem free from here!
