All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Technically you can put conventional in one zone, and P25 on another zone. Would be annoying having to switch but that's about the only way to get both your tones and your radio traffic.

Okay, if you have the conventional in one zone (or knob position) and P25 in another, how will you be able to monitor both at the same time like the OP asked about? The pager ONLY monitors one zone one knob and one type of comms (system or conventional) at a time. You can scan multiple conventional frequencies, but not system and conventional.

Thats exactly how I setup a few pagers for friends. alerts on UHF conventional then they switch to UHF TLMR. When they want quiet they switch back to A. Simple.

I'm not saying you can monitor both at once. I said the best option would be to have tones in a conventional zone and then the actual TG's in another zone. The OP can have it listening for tones then he'd have to switch zones to be able to listen to the TG's. It's not perfect by any means but it's something.

You can setup the alert tones on one knob position and the P25 system on an adjacent knob position in the same zone. When you get an alert, one click of the knob is all it takes to switch to the P25 system. It is much more difficult and time consuming to change zones. You can change the knob position without looking at it.
