• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have a couple questions with programming a G5
I have a G5 and I’m currently programming a couple more for our department. I did create a code plug for them but when I went to upload it i had to download the latest version. Then when I download the latest version to upload that code plug I created in the old file the G5 programmed all haywire. The first zone I have VHF selective call feature and then 7 800 MHz trunked Trunking TG Normal Scan. But when I programmed it there was stuff completely missing and things duplicated in different knobs they were not suppose to be. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Does the serial number of what you have to select change now with the newer ones that you purchase?
Serial # of mine I have is AG5V8S0127
Newest ones model # are: G5B67BF-SXVXEN1401UNI-0002-180625.
not sure why I have ran into trouble with this go around. Let me know what I’m doing wrong or maybe missing. Thanks

Update, from what I'm running into is I noticed the selective call doesn't show up and shows up unprogrammed. Then when I create two Trunking TG Normal Scans, only one shows up where its suppose to be and then it overrides the other one and duplicates that same zone again. When I uploaded the original code plug yesterday it was the wrong version but now I'm using the correct version.

If it's the latest from the website, I've had issues in Windows 10 with that software. I've had to use 7 (luckily in a virtual machine) just to program it. The betas I don't have a problem with in 10.

Just giving everyone heads up on what I found. Contacted vendor and their tech support, was out of my control bad pager, there was something corrupted inside the memory of the unit, so I’m getting it swapped with a replacement.
Thanks everyone!
