As the leaders begin to arrive, does anyone know any other callsigns we might hear as they get close to YYZ ?

Anyway or anyone know where they will land? I can't really see them landing at YYZ, with security concerns.
I am guessing CFB Borden or North Bay but the drive would be brutal unless they go by helicopter. I am sure radio communications from air to land is encyrpted.

They just said on the news to expect delays at YYZ in the days leading up to their arrivals. YYZ will operate as usual. Joint forces will provide security/escorts Peel, TPS, OPP, RCMP and military personnel.

They will probably do rolling road blocks and ramp closures, like when they did that bomb escort a couple months back. Anyone headin' to the cottage may wanna take note...

CFB Borden's runways are too small to land anything.

I've heard the Muskoka Airport will be used.

It will be YYZ. Remember there are no ILS approaches available between Toronto and North Bay. You're not going to see world leaders in the back of Beach 1900's doing NDB approaches into Muskoka. Expect the infield area of YYZ to be sealed off completely for this event and I would guess military or heavily protected civilian helicopter transfers to/from Deerhurst. This event is not meant to be a public spectacle.

If some of the YYZ military traffic isn't on conventional VHF Airband, they'll be on the UHF frequencies -

Tower 236.600
Arrival 358.100
Departure 363.800
Ground 275.800

I've heard rumours that a large Moto TRBO trunking system will be temporarily installed in the Huntsville area for support and logistics.

Not sure of any other information other then that.

A Kenwood Nexedge system has been installed with 6 sites.

TPS was doing a mock motorcade/escort on Avenue Road tonight...there must have been 30 TPS and OPP motorcycles as well as a bunch of unmarked cruisers playing in traffic!

Felipe Calderon, the President of Mexico was in town - arrived Thurs, departed Friday. Also "Stevie" was in town Friday as well. So they may have been legit escorts, I know they had a pretty good motorcade for each. Good opportunity to practice and rehearse nonetheless.

Not so sure it was ether...there was no limo (per say), and i have seen WAY less security for the Governor General when she has breezed past my place. I see all the escorts come and go during the month....this one was something else!
