Is there any one that monitors Gallatin PD? I haven't heard nothing from them for some time now.

Gallitin testing new uhf p25. Latest I got from birdies is 453.1500 Being tested. Once all the kinks are ironed out the system will be built out countywide.

Right now Gallatin PD and FD are P25 conventional repeaters, P25 phase 1 digital voice. Not yet P25 trunking or part of TACN. However additional frequencies for Sumner County are licensed for P25 trunking with both P25 phase 1 and phase 2 digital voice, so possibly some of this could move to trunking and/or phase 2 in the future, whether part of TACN or standalone, yet to be seen.

As of now its going to be Standalone TRS with patching to TACN. To add UHF capability to TACN would mean OTAP or touching all State radios, and all the county radios in the surrounding areas to reprogram the codeplugs. It can be done, but would be a huge hassle. Sumner had chance to go TACN but cheaper won out with EFJ/Kenwood Orion being chosen. So maybe some day FAR in the future they may add it as an TACN cell on the Middle TN Regional zone.... But do not hold your breath.
