On the eve of deer season and thru the early season I am not hearing the game wardens….are they on low band or new frequencies

Well not that many years.
I think the Dallas office in Luzerne County was using it as recently as 2 years ago.

PGC NE have been operating on the P25 system since late December 2019, so it hasn't even been a full two years yet...definitely not "years" plural.

That may be but dcnr is listed on here and locally I hear them on their old frequencies…and not hearing anything on p25…maybe I don’t know how to program this radio

DCNR does not use the P25 system as primary. They have talkgroups, yes, and occasionally you'll hear them on those talkgroups, but so far they are secondary to the conventional VHF frequencies, and it looks like they'll remain that way for the foreseeable future.

They invested a lot of money in new repeaters less than a decade ago, and those localized VHF repeaters work well for them. Unlike other agencies that were on the OpenSky system and had no choice but to migrate to the ASTRO 25 system, DCNR has the freedom to use whatever works best for them.

Just a note I have pic in two scanners and not hearing anything on a busy day….something wrong here but not sure what to adjust…using sds200 and ws1095….by the way…I’ve not heard anything state related but do hear counties using p25 police fire ect

What sites of the STARNet P25 system are you scanning? Do you have TG 12042 programmed correctly in either scanner?

What sites of the STARNet P25 system are you scanning? Do you have TG 12042 programmed correctly in either scanner?

That’s what I was thinking…not programmed correctly….inside antenna on 1098 and outside antenna on sds200…back to the manual…wish there was some one close…any coaching appreciate for sds200

There are three NW districts in the wiki where the current radio ID is unknown. It looks like they've had some consolidations up there over the years.

NW Venango/SE Crawford/NE Mercer

SE Venango/NW Clarion

SW Venango/E Mercer

I know this feed sometimes carries PGC NW: Warren County Public Safety Live Audio Feed
Depends on whether any wardens are on radio in the area.

Looking for any updates. It seems like some regions have Fire Operations 4-6 and others have Common, Admin, and Spare under those same talkgroups.
