Your question raises another question: why would anyone want to listen to an encrypted talkgroup?

Funny.. Its in the clear...

Funny the last time I checked it was in the clear... I'll have to dig out the TG out of the radio...

It was more or less an assumption based on other gang / drugs / vice TGIDs in Multnomah County and Portland being encrypted.

Especially with their latest efforts to curb the spike in gang violence, I would think they would at least consider using encryption....wouldn't you?

You might as well listen to the main dispatch channels. The gang channels usually aren't very exciting. If they are going to serve a warrant, or make an arrest, they usually switch to a main channel anyway.

Out of curiosity, what encryption does Portland have? DES-XL? DVP?
