No more Garrison. That Precinct is now called Franklin. The station moved near the end of 2003. Here is an excerpt from the Baltimore County government's website:

"On Novmeber 17, 2003 all personnel from the old Garrison Station moved to the current building on Nicodemus Road in Reisterstown, Maryland. The new precinct is 25,000 square feet, five times the size of Garrison Station. Franklin Station includes a state-of-the-art prisoner holding area, digital security system, large locker rooms, an exercise room and parking for 150 vehicles."

Yep it's been gone for a little while now.

The County will be adding a new Pct. 4 (Pikesville). This will be located near Riesterstown Rd. and Slade Ave. They supposedly broke ground for it a few weeks ago. I think it's going to be built on the same lot where MSP is building their new forensics lab.

When the new Pct. is fully operational they will be using TG 104 (ID 1744) for dispatch.

The Baltimore Jewish Times had an article months ago detailing the new bounderies. I posted excerpts of the article, so do a search and see if you can find something.

Ah, HA!!!

Answers many questions, such as:

1. What they are building on Slade, just east of Milford Mill....

2. Why OM freq seems to only have garbage on it. I would have thought it would have been active already.

Although, I do question why they would set up the precinct in Reisterstown and leave the rest of the Southern part of the county uncovered until they build the new pct?

From on-the-air conversations, I've heard mention of no more than 3-4 officers staffed there and, at least once, heard another dispatcher saying no one was there at the sub-station to answer a phone since they were all out on calls.

There's way more then 3-4 officers there. When driving past, I often see at least 10 cars parked out side. There's also a Liberty Road sub-station as well, and the Franklin Pct. acts as the sub-station for the Riesterstown squad. I don't think the officers assigned to the sub-stations even report to the Pct. I think they just go straight to the sub-station for their shift. In other words all the cars assigned to the sub-station cover the Pikesville area, insuring that the area is not under protected. Nonetheless, they still have pretty thin coverage, but I don't think that has to with the placement of the stations.
