Gastonia Police Channel Change

Anyone know why Gastonia has moved its dispatching off 453.350 MHz (channel 1), and is now using the old detectives channel (460.150 MHz - channel 3 / formerly channel 5) for dispatching ?

Looking at the time you posted, maybe the Channel was closed for normal traffic? I remember seeing about 8 Gastonia cars at I-85 & New Hope Road on a dual-vehicle stop. They had at least 8 "young men" on the curb with their hands behind their back.

As of 5:30pm 7-13, They have activity on 453.6000, which I have as CH 3. I'll monitor all three and see what's up.

BTW, If anyone is intrested, Lincoln Co Sheriff Ch1 (453.100) is down at the Comm Center.

They've been using 460.150 MHz as the primary dispatch channel for several days.

Monday night, while I was coming down Hwy 321 from Granite Falls, they had an incident that required closing 460.150 MHz, and moving activity to 453.600 Mhz for a few minutes.

I'll be listening for a little while tonight, but I'll keep my ears out tomorrow as well. They are always using all three freqs, so I never really notice what they are on.

Right now it seems they are using 453.600 for standard calls for service.

I'll update this tomorrow.

They have been using 453.600 for dispatching calls. I heard a little talking on 460.150, then I heard an off-duty officer check 10-41 on a off duty job on 453.350. He asked if this was the secondary channel tonight. The dispatcher said yes.

I really have no idea what they are doing :lol:

I was in Gastonia today, and it seems the same. I'll be able to call someone who might be able to help this weekend. If I get anything, I'll update this thread.

It's possable they were doing a temp CH change for the President's trip. Now that that's over, I'll give a listen this weekend at work and report if they go back.
