I went unprepared to Gatlinburg over the Easter weekend, and stayed at the Hojo. Nice veiw, with a scanner. I didn't program any trunk stuff, but managed to catch a few calls for fire/rescue over that weekend. I could see activity from our room, and trucks came by in the morning. One incident must have been back down 441 in the forest area. A news report on Sat. morning was possibly about a couple of people had fallen down an incline while trying to escpae danger in a stormy front that passed through that Fri evening. There may have been more than one fatality. Nearby were tornados in Murphreesboro. More fire action on Sat. in response to a smoke detector alarm, nearby. Trucks rolled right by. Many traffic stops were observed.

I did't use the scanner at all at Dollywood.

Anyway, there was much more to listen to on our short Spring Vacation. FRS came through alot, because of the Ripley's horror house.

Glad you enjoyed your trip to my neighborhood. Scanning can be interesting at times around here depending on what is taking place in the area. When car shows are in Pigeon Forge, you can monitor the police writing tickets left and right, picking up drunks in the paddy wagon (yes they do have one :) ), and just sit back and enjoy the hobby.
As far as the trunk is concerned, in Gatlinburg you won't miss anything except the sheriff, You wouldn't really need the system programmed unless they responded as back up to the Gatlinburg Police.
Glad you enjoyed your vacation, come back soon.
